Workshop / activiteit

Public speaking, lobbying & negotiating

Date: Friday 3 May
Time: 13:30 – 15:30
Location: Evenementenruimte Langeveld
Trainer & organisation: UUMUN

Job interviews, networking events or scientific conferences: these are just a few examples of situations that you will face in the near future. In all situations the key is to win over your audience, yet many people don’t get the opportunity to develop the particular set of skills required to do so.

This training is where social skills and professional competencies meet. You will be taught how to present yourself and your arguments in different situations, through a combination of theory and practice. In addition to learning how to speak confidently in front of an audience, you learn how to effectively persuade people in short face-to-face encounters.

During the highly interactive workshop you will be trained in: Public speaking, lobbying, and negotiating.

The trainers: the trainers are the trainers of Utrecht University Model of United Nations (UUMUN), a highly competitive student-led foundation that intensively trains students in diplomatic skills, such as public speaking, lobbying, and negotiating. Every year UUMUN selects 17 ambitious and talented students to partake in a year’s training with the end goal to compete in the Model United Nations Conferences at Oxford University and Harvard University respectively.
