Marieke Kroezen


Marieke Kroezen completed her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Utrecht University in 2008, after which she obtained a Master’s degree in Medical Anthropology and Sociology at the University of Amsterdam in 2009. Since then she has been working in national and international health research. After obtaining her PhD, based on research on nurse prescribing, she worked in various positions at the University of Nottingham (UK), the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (BE), Erasmus MC and Tilburg University. Since 2020 she has been working as a senior researcher and project leader at the Trimbos Institute. There she does a.o. research on people with dementia and their informal caregivers and people with gerontopsychiatric problems in long-term care. She also works as a scientific consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies.

Marieke Kroezen rondde in 2008 haar bachelor Sociologie af aan de Universiteit Utrecht, waarna ze in 2009 aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam een Master Medische Antropologie en Sociologie behaalde. Sindsdien is zij werkzaam in het nationaal- en internationaal gezondheidszorgonderzoek. Na het behalen van haar PhD, gebaseerd op onderzoek naar het voorschrijven van medicijnen door verpleegkundigen, werkte ze in verschillende functies aan de University of Nottingham (UK), de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (BE), het Erasmus MC en Tilburg University. Sinds 2020 werkt ze als senior onderzoeker en projectleider bij het Trimbos-instituut. Daar doet ze o.a. onderzoek naar mensen met dementie en hun mantelzorgers en mensen met gerontopsychiatrische problematiek in de langdurige zorg. Daarnaast is ze als wetenschappelijk consulent actief voor de World Health Organization (WHO) en de European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies.
